@Wonkers earlier post is spot on. This is a successful first attempt at producing gas from the deep coals and improvements in fracture design are inevitable e.g very high angle multi fracs within the coals, possibly larger size fractures and experimentation with different frac fluids.

I expect significantly higher flow rate from the Kianga tight gas fracs. Simply on the basis of comparing matrix permeabilities, the Kianga has about 160 micro Darcy permeability, but the the coal matrix is only 0.5 - 1.0 micro Darcy. That is a 160 fold difference in flow potential for the Kianga and in addition, the Kianga may be thicker than the coals in terms of net pay compared to the 65m of coals. Total net pay thickness of the Kianga and Black Creek Group is 180m, but I'm not sure how much is split between the Kianga and Black Creek groups.

My feeling is the combined flow rate from the Kianga and Lorelle will blow our socks off! I am expecting at least 5 mmscf/d from the next flow test.
