Agree @Shaq_01, plenty of opportunities for the State and Feds to support the project in its many different areas, as it is so much more than the TECH site:

• New Caledonia - repair relations with France, support Pacific Island nations in the face of China's aggressive infrastructure/loans etc, demonstrate climate change action and support this best in class ESG project
• Bowen Basin metallurgical coal mines - reduce their emissions, perhaps prevent opening of further coal mines, and thus demonstrate climate change action/support the ESG
• North QLD power - the gas project to provide another avenue to firm up the state's/East Coast grid and reduce dependency on coal
• North QLD jobs - assist the transition from heavy polluting industry, take the load off Brisbane expansion
• Critical Minerals Strategy - walk the talk on the strategy's reset

Factor in New Caledonia's eagerness to reduce tailings, emissions + other EFA's interest; funding is still very much alive IMO
