They will start off with a high grade phosphate mine going into production next year to service local farms with fertiliser. Lots of strong support for this project from the IFDC as well as the government. Strong growth from this project over a period of seven years according to the scoping study, although with the big shortages in fertiliser since the scoping study and new large farm customer inquiries, ramp up schedules might be shortened. Initial design capacity was planned at 150,000tpa, ramping up to 300,000tpa and then 450,000tpa so strong growth over a number of years.
In parallel to this is the green ammonia. The initial plan was for production for local sales only of ammonia based fertiliser and ammonia nitrate for explosives for large mines in the region. Initial power allocated was 100MW then quickly upgraded to 200MW. After securing extremely low power prices and I'm guessing encouragement from the technical partner and perhaps larger investors, the company is now also looking at a stage two 500MW to produce product for export as well. This might be a mix of green ammonia for fertiliser, ammonia nitrates for explosives or perhaps also green ammonia for energy use. I'm only guessing on this part. Initial production of 300,000tpa of ammonia nitrate as early as 2023/2024 according to the most recent presentation.
