I just think light bulbs are very low tech given the power of ADRC.
Power management is a key here, as well as the "gimmicky" things.
As far as gimmicky things go, it will be a revolutionary application for smartphones, like a universal remote controller on steroids.
The simple fact is, that the user will have the OPTION for inter connectivity. The chips (which include the ADRC tech at relatively insignificant cost to the actual cost of th item) will be in many many devices, irrespective if the user wants to utilise the tech. Some peeps may not want to use it, but manufacturers of white goods will need to include the chips in devices just in case some peeps do.
A good analogy is in car navigation and Fuel efficiency gauges - All modern cars have it, but not everyone uses it. But for a car not to have it just maybe that could be the deal breaker in selling a car as opposed to the oppositions that do.
