    Radiochemist- Optimal Tracers

The Radiochemist will play a crucial role in the research and development of radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals for various applications, including medical imaging, radiation therapy, and scientific investigations. Your expertise will contribute to advancing our understanding of nuclear science and its practical applications. This position requires a strong background in chemistry, radiochemistry, and radiation safety. Candidate must have a strong background working in a GMP facility. knowledge in FDA regulatory requirements such as 21 CFR 211 and 212, USP 823 and 825 is preferred.

    • Conduct Radioisotope Synthesis: Design, optimize, and perform radioisotope production and radiopharmaceutical synthesis protocols using established methodologies. Ensure adherence to quality control procedures and regulatory guidelines.
    • Analyze and Characterize Radiochemicals: Utilize advanced analytical techniques, such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), mass spectrometry, and gamma spectroscopy, to analyze and characterize radiochemicals for purity, stability, and specific activity.
    • Develop Radiopharmaceutical Formulations: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop novel radiopharmaceutical formulations for diagnostic imaging or therapeutic applications. Conduct formulation optimization studies to enhance stability, biodistribution, and targeting efficiency.
    • Perform Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality assurance protocols to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Monitor and maintain radiochemical laboratories and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
    • Radiation Safety and Handling: Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols, including handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials. Maintain records of radiation exposure and implement appropriate safety measures to protect personnel and the environment. Work directly and report to radiation safety officer (RSO).
    • Collaborate and Communicate: Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including chemists, physicists, and medical professionals, to support research projects and achieve project goals. Communicate findings, progress, and challenges through reports, presentations, and scientific publications.

    • Education: A Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree in Radiochemistry, Chemistry, Nuclear Chemistry, or a related field is required.
    • Experience: Demonstrated experience in radiochemical synthesis, radiopharmaceutical development, and characterization techniques. Familiarity with modern analytical instrumentation and quality control methodologies is essential.
    • Knowledge: Strong theoretical and practical understanding of radioisotope production methods, radiochemistry principles, and radiation safety protocols. Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing scientific data is crucial.
