Live in Melbourne, we go bush a lot, I use telstra missus has two phones. One with Voda and other (work phone) with Optus, guess who gets Reception, not her. Have been to the Cape and the N T. With other couples and they are with Optus and wifey as above, me with Telstra. Guess who's phone was used to make calls and hot spotted nearly the whole time of those two trips.
