Not correct- where did you obtain the figure of 10K from?

The CFO of TLS, M. Ackland, above in the HY 23 Results, said TLS is taking on "tens of thousands" of former Optus customers, disenchanted at the huge & disruptive hack of their financial details. "Tens of thousands" can be any figure from 20k-90k.

Furthermore, for the CFO of TLS in his HY 2023 comments, to highlight & specifically mention Optus (its main competitor!- Thems fighting words) departures, with many switching to TLS, is very significant. He wouldnt have made these "confronting" comments, unless the defections were materially beneficial for TLS.

Additionally, there were media reports within 4 weeks of the Optus hack, that 10% (not 10K) of Optus customers had left Optus- &, from a survey, a further 56% were considering leaving- massive implications of their disgust at Optus etc.

From my post 7.11.22, in the TLS "Where to..." thread.

"The Australian 31.10.22 S. Sharples said

"With up to 9.8 million Australians having their personal details stolen in the massive Optus hack, customers have started voting with their feet - 10 per cent of those using their mobile service have left the company since the breach.

The country’s second-largest telecommunications provider is facing 56 per cent of current customers “considering changing telcos as a direct result of the Optus cyber attack”, while 10 per cent had already done so, according to the annual EFTM Mobile Phone Survey.

It found that Telstra boasts a 30 per cent share of the market, while Optus currently has 24 per cent of the market and TPG/Vodafone is responsible for a 15 per cent share.

“Like many people I expected there to be a lot of upset customers, but I didn’t expect to see as many people actively saying they have made the change … 10 per cent is a huge amount,” EFTM chief executive Trevor Long toldThe Australian.

“What this tells me is that it’s a real groundswell, and Optus will lose a lot of customers". ".

"If TLS is able to win 10% + of former Optus customers (who are upset at having so much of their personal ID information hacked- so unlikely, IMO, to return to Optus for the medium term), then TLS should achieve a significant profit boost. This will, then, be reflected in a much higher SP.- my comments).

Finally, Morgan Stanley in early Nov.22 has stated that:-

. many Optus disaffected customers, because of the hack of their personal details, have defected to TLS (in early Nov., it was publicly revealed that an alarming 10% already defected to TLS. How many more since late Oct. 22, to now, in Feb.2023?).

. for the reason of these Optus defections only up to late Oct. 2022 reason only, the TLS SP is likley to rise by 14c-30c.
