Share splits are as simple as slicing a pizza in more pieces, or swapping a $10 note for two $5 notes - it adds zero value. It can actually reduce liquidity by increasing the bid/ask spread percentage at lower prices.
Perhaps we'll have to ask at the EGM what the total cost is for this useless move.
