Yeah a giant that in human terms is 90 years old.

I just think there must be a lot of pressure on management and the board to keep dividends as high as possible. People who say "wow I'm buying TLS look at the great div yield" are kidding themselves. The dividends are killing Telstra slowly but surely.

I'd like to have seen management come out and say - We are in a Telco warzone and we need to keep all our firepower (cash) to defend and grow our markets, repay debt, strengthen our balance sheet and fund new avenues of growth. If we have any excess cash we will buy back some shares.

But no. They will still be shovelling billions out the windows. And that is why the share price deserves to go down and down and, yes that's right down again.
