The real trick is/was to sell the spinoff at the right price. eg. If you sold Wesgold Resources (WGX) at $2.00. Then bought back in at 80c.
You'd be laughing. That was behind my comment above. The split of Ni from the Sn, means I can make my own asset allocation decision and can't blame others.
All IMVHO.
BTW I only got half the perfect path above right and I'm not saying which half. Nevertheless I'm still here (and blowing kisses to everyone - now I've put you all off !).
