A very logical business decision to have a backup Terminal provider. Presume you don't have to pay a high monthly fee? This is always the risk when going with a non-bank merchant service provider.
If TYRO is a lowest cost payment facilitator then I doubt this will materially impact market share provided they can tidy this up and avoid a repeat within the next 6 months. While the noise will be very loud, ultimately money talks so i'd expect contrite apologies once this is all sorted and businesses will be angry but ultimately get on with it.
