As soon as the 3 current directors walk out the door, Garry and Gareth under section 201H of the Corporations Act can appoint a director.

Public companies must confirm the appointment by resolution of shareholders at the next Annual General Meeting, or the appointment ceases at the end of the AGM.

No need to resubmit nor amend forms, plus doing that would reset the clock for them to call the meeting under the 249D, 21 days after being served they have to announce the meeting, which is required to be held within 2 months from the date the 249D was served.
