Not sure, every mine where I have worked that was owner/operator has been highly inefficient.
As a geo I much preferred it, since we all had the same goal of accuracy (vs tonnes for contractors), but without the incentives I have found the operators are pretty happy to take it slow. Which isnt great for lofty targets. But better for reconciliation. From my expirience anyway.
