This is great news as I think the Alliance upside is significant, especially with both Qantas and Virgin wet leasing aircraft. I can't see how Alliance could provide jets to Virgin with Qantas in control and Qantas do not run an airline efficiently. Alliance can potentially benefit from the poor perception of Qantas in customer land. There are routes they clash head on, such as to Moranbah. I also think it is better for the travelling public. Qantas have done themselves no favours and the regulators will not give them any free passes in the future.
