At a guess it is that essentially Merchant has withdrawn support for the Squirrel acquisition as it has gone beyond their (Merchant Capital) risk appetite to underwrite all those options at that price and this alone should be enough to make others wary however given the company is in a suspended animation state and cant be traded it really doesn't matter at this point.

If you hold you will just have to sit it out, if not then you will have to sit it out and make a call as to whether you want to get in or not when it gets re-animated. Whether it gets re-animated as a squirrel or a donkey only time will tell.
