The news is good I agree, but not really amazing.
What would have been amazing is a comparison in Lithium Ion battery performance between batteries made with amorphous or flake graphite, versus those made with Sri Lankan vein graphite.
From the tests that RS Mines has done with Sri Lankan vein graphite we know that conductivity of crystalline vein graphite is superior. It would have been nice if some conductivity and/or battery performance comparisons were included in the Wuhan University results.
That would have generated some interest.
As it stands now one might wonder why you would pay such a premium price for vein graphite if you can make Lithium Ion batteries from cheaper amorphous/flake graphite. We know the answer is that because performance is superior, and that should have been tested and reported on.
