Tesla's figures for the speeds of the Semi Truck and the Roadster, and their range, have been accurately measured.

The Semi Truck is capable of doing 0 - 100kph in 20.0 seconds fully laden with a gross weight of 36,000 tonnes! These amazing speed figures are difficult to comprehend!

But just imagine what it will be like to have a 36,000 truck hurtling along at 100kph in total silence??? Pedestrians would need to keep a careful look out for them! And of course, along with the silence there is no filthy diesel pollution! The driver sits in the front, centre of the cabin, which projects forward, and the steering wheel is in the centre of the cabin. This gives the driver an amazing view of the surroundings and other vehicles on either side of the truck.

The battery packs are estimated to be about 1,200kw in capacity, equivalent to 12 of the battery packs used in just 1 model S vehicle. That is a serious amount of Graphite needed for each truck! The total cost of the truck battery pack may be as high as $120,000 each!!!

But over 1,600,000km of use, the Semi Truck is predicted to save the operators about US$200,000 in fuel and operation costs, which is quite significant.

And amazingly the concept of a Semi Truck convoy, with drivers or even driverless, would be cheaper to use than a train! Imagine if trains were under pressure to carry freight, as Tesla Semi Truck convoys could carry the loads much quicker and cheaper than by rail??? It would be a new world!

Much more news, info and test driving needs to come out, but on what we know after just 1 day, the Semi Truck looks like it could be a huge winner!

Can't wait to see one in action. Orders for 2019 delivery are already coming in. Hopefully the sales of these monsters are highly successful from an environmental viewpoint, as well as considering the amount of Graphite that they will be using in their massive battery packs!
