Because for the next couple of weeks announcing the number of tests coming in to Australia is more important than knowledge of their efficacy?
The cost of the test themselves will mostly be covered by the user and dealing with the fallout of inaccurate tests is a future health management problem for which the blame can be so widely spread no one responsible will be held accountable.
