Farming out is exactly about avoiding putting all your eggs in one basket! - risk management.
CVN has quite a lot of 'baskets', no need to go into any of them without some farm out of the costs/risks.
And your views on ASX 200 are so backwards. Management don't need to focus on being in the ASX200 they need to (continue to) focus on finding oil, keeping cash flow, sustainable growth profile, etc. If they are succesful enough at doing this the SP will rise and CVN will stay in the ASX 200 not the other way around! But anyway I believe this conversation has already been had many times before...
