Thred’s Microsoft Word ‘Add-in’ is Live in the Microsoft App Store Further to the Company’s previous announcement, access to the Thred platform is now possible via Microsoft Word.
This important integration helps to achieve 3 purposes for the Company:

1. Cost effective and largescale distribution opportunities for the Thred platform: Because of the large and global reach of Microsoft’s Word product (there are 1.2 Billion Office Users and 60 million O365 commercial users globally), this ‘test & learn’ integration lays the foundation for multiple distribution opportunities for the Thred platform;

2. ‘Test & Learn’ validation of Thred as a collaboration platform: Users of Thred can, via enterprise platforms like Microsoft Office 365, use Thred functionality to work collaboratively on the creation of work or private documents in groups, in a real-time environment. Once the Company has completed validation of the Word integration with live users, it will evaluate the viability and opportunity of further Enterprise-level integrations (such as other Microsoft products, Adobe, WordPress, etc):

3. Laying the foundations for an Enterprise monetisation channel: This initial integration provides multiple cross channel revenue and growth opportunities that are underpinned by a consumer driven model which the Company is eager to exploit as quickly as practical.

Once the ‘test and learn’ validation phase is complete and updates and improvements are deployed, Thred will discuss marketing tactics with Microsoft to explore further enhancements, promotion and adoption. Early stage discussions are already underway to lay the foundation for marketing efforts in collaboration with Microsoft.

As illustrated in the diagram overleaf, Thred users can access their Thred feed through the Microsoft Word App by following the ensuing steps:
• Go to Word screen on desktop or laptop
• Go to the “insert” tab
• Click or tap the Store Icon (circled in red in the diagram below)
• Type “Thred” in the Search bar
• Click to load and follow further Microsoft instructions

Users will then need to log into or sign up to Thred, allowing collaboration with friends and colleagues via their Word program, enabling users to share files from their PC as well as text from their document. Users are reminded that this version is an early beta release that is subject to regular and ongoing refinement.
