I entered at around 70c initially when they were first producing and they were reporting monthly cash flow statements. They were particularly cash generative in those early days.

I have read all the announcements. Fairly quickly I admit! There is always a good story, the fact is these assets have been publicly marketed for some time so I consider the purchase price a fair value. Barrick sell now for limited up front cash to reduce the risk they have to pay to close these higher cost mines if gold prices continue to fall.

A dividend is a farce is its small compared to your regular capital raising surely? All the goldies could pay one if they wanted to keep selling shares!!

I like the "eloquently put" post myself. I get few positive comments about my posting style. That wont surprise you I'm sure!

As for your long term growth thing, I'm not sure how that is consistent with the dividend policy. I do agree though. These acquisitions may look brilliant in the long term. What I'm saying though is that the stock they are effectively paying with is way over valued at the moment compared to the cash flow the business generates and the value of an option of gold prices rising.
