Only in its purest form does a spodumene crystal contain about 8% lithium( LiO2).At this point it’s classed as ‘gem spodumene’ and is cut for jewellery.
Most mining would obviously be only half, that say 4 or 5% LiO2 within the crystal lattice.So as a ‘rough’ guide my best guess at it would be about 25% spod to get to about 1.1 or 1.2% LiO2. Happy to be proved otherwise.
That’s why regulators are picky about getting companies to state visual estimates are no substitution for assays.
