I think there might be a simple way of looking at this recent nickel find.
It helps validate their exploration model on the ground. A lot of the recent follow up holes were 'blindly' drilled and still hit sulphides. 200m out, they also hit MSulphides. I think one of the original holes was 2.5km away, and hit sulphides. FQM want more rigs and have restarted some IP work. These are all positive signs in the very early stages of an exploration program. The fact that these guys are going to redo the surveys, tells us that these discoveries were not expected in some ways, so its back to getting that sorted in the short term. What will that show us???
This is more than just a nickel play, what about the Copper and PGE potential?? Assays will give us a hint. That can dramatically change the economics. Just focusing on one metal might be missing the point.
What would be wrong with a massive 0.05%Ni and 0.05%cu plus PGE discovery?? FMQ might want super grade instead, but a large open mineralised area deserves a lot more work. DRE cant really loose when you think about it. Its more a question of net upside. If they find a fat high grade, then DRE should multiB, if FQM walk, DRE picks up where they left off and continue the hunt. People think that if majors walk, it means the ground is screwed. That is totally incorrect and has been proven over and over. Many said that the REE ended at the fault line. How wrong were they! It takes time, and a lot of people are looking for totally unrealistic instant outcomes. Traders are pumped on Columbian marching powered speculating wildly around the slightest breeze. That is their call.
Like most explorers., DRE is one fat hole away from taking off. It is even better when somebody else is paying for the ride. You need the ground, money and smarts to hit that hole as a rule. The company has done well across all of their projects. If you are going to put risk capital to work, then a company like this offers a decent reward. The risks remain for every explorer. Few have had this success. DRE has always said it wants to find these ore bodies and sell them. It takes time. The assets are showing real promise. They are about to drill the cu in the Kimberley and 10km of known high grade gold strike. Any one of these assets can add to momentum and a rerating. Even during the drilling and news flow of the REE, people still said it was not going to work. You have to keep your head down and ignore negative people, and rely on the professionals if you are onto something. You dont raise money, build good boards, drill high quality targets if you think about all the things that can go wrong. Musk wont be employing people like that for any reason. Blind faith is not great a lot of the time either, but they have proven the model on the ground across numerous assets so far. I am just going to let the drill bit do the talking into Xmas across the asset base and see what happens. They have the cash to get it done. If DRE hit a monster, then the funds will be hurling money at them all day long at much higher prices. dyor
