One important thought I missed to post. From my observation if the stock is way oversold, there are always chances of continuous downtrend only if fundamentals have changed. Opposite is true when a stock appears way overbought on the back of fundamental changes and keeps going up for re-rate. If no change of fundamentals, it surely follows cyclical trend of peaks and troughs; from oversold to overbought then back to oversold. Each and every stock I have owned over the years followed this pattern.

Again all on my humble opinion which may completely be wrong
