Been following this stock for a while but couldnt quite make it over the line to buy any. Apple's new product/updates released could have a decent impact on SKF's ability to monitor apple device users using their current system.
Apple announced several new privacy measures, building on last year's event where it pledged to jam Facebook's tracking tools.
"Privacy is a fundamental human right," said Apple's software chief Craig Federighi.
He said that there will be an option for apps which request location information to have to ask every time they require it, and they will be blocked from using other markers, such as identifying Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signals.
If my read-through in correct, this could fundamentally impact how SKF tracks people that move through a venue. I note that in most countries, apple is not the main device carrier, however I wonder if this wont be too far off for Android devices too. I am unsure whether this means that devices will no longer put out a MAC address (and therefore be untraceable) or if these changes only relate to more specific in app data being transferred.
