I think i remember Chris Cairns saying that the Cayley load was viable for mining, in its own right, with a copper price of US$6 lb - Other discoveries could bring this price down by spreading some of the infrastructure costs.
We are still a fair way off US $6.00 but with demand and world shortages many expect this price to be reached in the future.

My other comment is in respect to some local knowledge of the Stavely area. I have been visiting a farm in the area for over thirty years. Winter is very variable and we have just experienced some very wet winters where you could not enter the paddocks without getting bogged. I have also experienced winters where we have not even put vehicles into 4 wheel drive. It is forecast (BOM) this winter will be in the bottom 20% of wetness ie quite dry. If this is the case, drilling may not even need to stop.
