I'm not quite sure what they plan to do differently this time but the options are limited if it is just re-run the completion, I would say the chance of the same result is more than 50/50.
I have written to the company and suggested that they sidetrack higher up out of the 9 5/8" casing, assuming that the cement is good there (which could be proved with a CBL log) then this would have a very high chance of solving the water problem.
This should have been done the 1st time as the incremental cost is small compared to the massive reduction in risk of failure.
In the past I have never recieved replies so I on't think this time will be much different but I think the course of action they are proposing is dangerous.
