This is a great announcement. Amazing actually!

CSIRO fixed TIVAN!

I bought into this company originally as I thought that it would be disruptive to the Ti (pigment) feedstock industry. Illmenite is becoming very hard to find in sizeable deposits in mining friendly jurisdictions. To me TIVAN was the solution to fix this by enabling otherwise worthless titanomagnetite deposits like Mt. Peake to economicly provide the next century's Ti feedstock.

I was either really wrong or duped by previous management.

It turns out the original TIVAN process as great as it was could not produce a Ti product that could be feed straight into conventional pigment plants either Chloride or Sulfide. A bespoke pigment plant was required for this. Bugger.

Having a saleable pigment feedstock that can feed straight into a pigment plant albeit Sulfide is a game changer! This puts the economics of a TIVAN+ refinery right back on track!
