Why are world leaders borrowing more and more and throwing so much at economic recovery efforts to reduce the impact of coronavirus and in doing so damaging their economies.

On a global scale this does not make sense. For decades they have tried so hard to pay debt off and all of a sudden countries are borrowing more and spending as much as they want.

If you owned a business you would borrow within your means and ensure you could comfortably pay off your debts.

I believe a digital currency is close. They don't want us to use cash, it's apparently dirty.

My pick is a digital currency backed by Gold.

The REPO crisis started AUG 2019, COVID has managed to buy them some time; a very convenient set of events. It can only last so long though, I'm thinking around July 2021 to Dec 2021 the real economic shift will occur and see an eventual shift from public (Government) to private (Business). Hence the flow of money to the stock market (private). 2007 was a crisis of private debt. 2021-2022 will be a crisis of public debt, and public confidence. Gold stocks like HAW will benefit greatly though this shift, as Gold becomes more recognised as a hedge against the collapse of confidence in GVT's ability to manage. DYOR etc...
