From someone who knows a little about Pigment production I just about pee'd a little when I saw the TNG TI feedstock Iron levels, it is really special!
Traditional Ti pigment feedstocks are in the 90% range and it is as black as black, much of the remaining 10% is traditionally iron and it's tough to remove the remaining iron to give you a white pigment. To start the process with such a low iron product makes pigment manufacturing so much easier.
I was initially questioning TNG's choice of Pigment plant of Sulfate over the more widely used in western world chloride plant, but I suspect that this may have something to do with our low iron feedstock.
Get excited people, our new Ti feedstock production method is a game changer! What PB said about Illmenite and Rutile becoming rare is very true, with the no recent large deposits discovered in the first world for a long time.
