I have not heard of a name change but it makes sense, so I looked up TVN. By some coincidence the current company using TVN as its ASX sign has just changed its name and is changing its ASX sign from TVN to MOU. I am not sure how soon another company could use TVN but it could be confusing if it were allowed too soon. The following is a quote from the AGM of the current TVN company changing it name and ASX sign from TVN to MOU.

"At the EGM held last week, shareholders passed a special resolution to change the name of TVN Corporation Limited to Modun Resources Ltd (“Modun”. The name change reflects the company’s focus on Mongolian coal projects."
