I can believe he said it. I have always been of the view that Burtons interests and shareholders interests have never been aligned.
Shareholders exist to fund the company,the company exists to fund his lifestyle.
This is where I contrast the actions of the change team,with Burton.the change team spent significant sums of their OWN money buying shares and supporting the company,TNG board collectively spent less than 1 days pay. Then the change team spent more of their own money financing a challenge to the board (and their appalling record of destruction of shareholder wealth),in an attempt to re-align management and shareholder interests,for the benefit of all shareholders.The board then spent SHAREHOLDER money defending their lucrative incomes and further demonstrating the contempt that shareholders are held in,as well as proving beyond doubt the accuracy of my 2nd and 3rd sentences of this post.
