Computershare is a commercial enterprise, the AEC is not. Computershare offers services for payment, and as long as those services are firewalled (or have Chinese walls I think is the expression used in the industry) as necessary there should be no issue. One of Computershare's verticals does the vote admin/counting etc., and another does the canvassing for the board (or whomever pays them - I'm sure they would have done the same for the CMT if they'd stumped up the money). And as long as those verticals are separate from each other there should be no question of fairness.
