I’d be seriously revisiting those Malaysian refinery plans if I were Paul Burton. It’s looking more and more likely the NT refinery isn’t going ahead, and if it does, it will be many years more wrangling first. The project is already 6 years behind an optimistic original schedule.
You can bet the Malaysians would jump at the chance to get this project going over there. I can see a deal being fast tracked within 6 months.
Hell, I’d probably go a step further and move the company HQ there for lower tax rates. That might make the Australian Government rethink their anti business attitude...
