When an EIS or any development application is lodged, the applicant anticipates a degree of public comment in the way of objections.
What is not wanted is an extra amount of time for any left field splinter group to grab some subjective issue within the reporting and blow it out of context. The extra time that would be added to the exhibition period over the Xmas period may have been time ammunition for objections.
IMO, the submission to the NT Govt has been made and the choice to delay the matter is a sound commercial decision. Have a great weekend!
