Australian internet company Unwired has plans to expand and upgrade its network. The expansion is likely to be funded by a new $A100m capital raising, and existing cash reserves. CEO David Spence says the wireless broadband group is on its way to achieving its target of 70,000 Sydney subscribers. Unwired has a network in Sydney, however the company is hoping to establish new networks in other Australian cities. Spence believes the group's independence from Telstra sets it apart from rivals.
