With mining booming and Climate Change starting to be recognized as the real threat that it is, renewable energy and electrified transportation are starting to be appreciated. That said, we are way behind the 8 ball and may never be able to do enough to right the ship.
However, as you point out there also are other reasons to be pessimistic given massive stimulus that has been applied and the prospects of GFC II very real.
