the blame is not 100% on the MD and the BoDs but the lack of transparency and the non existent communication to explain what is causing this blowout is on them 100%.
And I certainly don't expect such large blowout to be all due to inflation. 30-40% due to inflation is fair call as we all know official inflation is a lie and it's lot higher than reported. 300% blowout is not fair call - if they blame it all on the inflation - and if it is as bad as you think.
They had lot of cash so why not ordering the big items early and avoid the impact of the inflation. They were pointing out how ALK was collecting around 4.7% interests on their cash in the bank but weren't seeing prices of various plant gear going up by 50%?
different story if they did not have options as there was no cash in the kitty.
