Deep Porphyry Drilling
The deep porphyry drill holes intercepted distal porphyry-style veining with copper mineralisation from approximately 600m to 1,000m in both holes. Dr Greg Corbett’s report is being reviewed and, when finalised, will be posted on the website at www.stavely.com.au under the Technical Data tab.
However, the best vector to the mineralised porphyry driving the large hydrothermal system at Thursday’s Gossan is the previously reported (see ASX announcement 31 March 2021) well- rounded copper mineralised porphyry clasts noted in the hydrothermal breccias in holes SMD047, 031, 032 and 044 in the interpreted position of the Copper Lode Splay.
Notwithstanding any structural offset, it is reasonable to expect the source porphyry to be at depth beneath those intercepts. A drill hole to test this position is currently being planned.
