So eventually with OZ on its knees, and share price plummetting, it got an amazing offer. 1 Billion to buy them out of debt . They got the LAOS copper mine which was an amazing Copper profitable mine developed by Oxiana. Owene Hegarrty was brilliant, helped the local econemy as well big time providing employment and building schools and hospitals.
The first thing the new buyers did was flew in their own workers from China, pissed off the local workers and started shipping copper back home to China. Australia lost out big time on this deal and almost nobody noticed.
