The company is also going to be on the hook for demolition and site remediation of defunct power stations (and coal mines). I suspect the best outcome for shareholders would be for the state governments to panic about "baseload power" and buy back their old power stations, even if it's only for $1 each, as long as they take on the closure costs.
It looks like the major asset at Liddel, and perhaps Torrens Island, is the major grid access point and licence to inject electricity there.
