One advantage of running a wiper trip before the MDT run is IVZ team will have a day to spend evaluating all the log data and picking stations most likely to have the best permeabilities. Usually you're rushing around like mad like a headless chook picking MDT points while trying to run other logs at the same time. On many occasions I've ended up sitting in the wireline units furiously fine tuning MDT stations as the tool was going in the hole....never a dull moment during a logging operation.
