If you find yourself holding a stock that has gone up 2x,3x,4x, or whatever, take some profit of the table! Pull your original investment off the table then ride with house money or something. Sometimes the clock strikes midnight and stocks turn into pumpkins.


I had a company go nearly 4x for me and I just sat and watched it die over a 12 month period thinking, "surely this has to be bottom". I finally tapped out for a 20% loss and that still hasn't found the bottom of the lake.

Just because you have accepted that you are willing to lose a certain amount of money doesn't mean you have to.
