Although Johnson and Johnson have said they are deprioritizing their infectious disease pipeline, I've still got them in the mix. They've been looking into the space for the last decade, only recently discontinuing their Dengue candidate mosnodenvir.
Interestingly this case study is from an outbreak back in the 1970's and by the time it hit Tonga, the majority of patients were asymptomatic, with many experiencing only mild or no illness. Tonga is back in the news currently going through another outbreak. 50 years on and the world still looking for solutions, we might have one....
I would think it would be a sore point at J&J, originally owning the molecule but trialing it in the wrong indications.
Not to mention Our newly appointed executive chairman spending more than 30 years with Johnson & Johnson in senior roles across the Asia Pacific region.
