I would of thought it was there to prevent unannounced transactions before official announcements were made etc ie insider trading before takeover bids were made.

This was pretty much out in the open and unconditional but I take the point that the look is not good if directors advise "you do not need to take any action now" and then sell out.

I really want DLS to win this at the right price and obtain it fair and square and if it is the case of home town advantage and out manoeuvring the opponents then so be it. The yanks are no angels when it comes to playing a bit of hard ball.
