I think you have misunderstood what I was saying (or trying to say any way). Buying is not in response to the Takeovers Panel report - instead it is to protect your investment by raising the share price to minimise the actual number of shares that will be issued in any future raise - thereby minimising dilution of your holdings, and if ATI is the underwriter - minimising the number of shares that go to them - which limits the percentage gain in their holdings.
