Discount plus options? If that was the case it is probably cheaper to just issue shares to the CN holder as the VW price is probably looking ok and that may be an easier and cheaper way to go. Is your scenario factual? They do have cash on hand plus additional funds they can draw on the CN in the shot term, so can't see the urgency for them to do what you suggest otherwise.
Could the halt be to simply to say that they intend to issue shares to CN holder? Would not have thought they would need to halt for that as the terms are already agreed.
