The best I can come up with is that the ASX has caught wind of the rumours on twitter put out by the likes of Stockswami that major shareholders have bought or sold shares in AVZ without providing the obligatory notice. So they contact the company to confirm the holdings of their board and major holders.

If that’s the case though it’s a pretty damn stupid reason.
