Rock chips samples are a means of "proof of concept". To prove that the target commodity exists in the area and to help identify targets. Obviously wherever higher grade targets are is where they'll drill.
Better than drilling blind, or drilling where the lesser grade rock is located. Rock chip samples are predominantly used to identify drill targets.
Anyone that takes rock chips samples as a definitive resource estimate or anything more than initial exploration samples needs to relax a little.
