Not so sure am amorgan1, AT&T may not have said anything to xTV at all. It may have been at their own instigation to clarify confusion. I reckon it's a positive follow on.

Don't forget the relationship between xTV and AT&T didn't commence yesterday so you could make an assumption (a dangerous thing) that AT&T would have also seen the announcement "LOI" regarding a large acquisition by them with a partner, before it was released by xTV.
